    Information required for host requirement

    Hi,

    I hope I'm in the right place.

    I currently am the Co-Ordinator for our group of counsellors' web site which is written in PHP. We are looking to upgrade our hosting package so that;
    1 We can have a members' area into which each member will log into using their own username and password (which I will retain).
    2 Each member will be able to update only their own details.
    3 Eventually we will be able to renew our membership subscription and purchase other good through it.
    4 I will be able to update the pages as and when necessary.

    What do I need to ensure the hosting package has, that will enable me to do all of the above?

    This has nothing to do with the hosting. You will have to code these yourself or hire somebody to do this for you.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I know I need at least a DB. So what else does the site need to provide?

    As long as your new web host has a DB everything should be fine, is this custom code or is it developed through a CMS?

    Then you should be fine as long as your hosting provider provides you with a DB

    Everything else you need comes in standard with shared hosting accounts such as, ftp, email accounts etc.
