Maybe somebody can point me in the right direction, I did a quick search and didn't find anything.
I have a supermicro X7DVL 2x5420 with 12GB RAM and decided to replace the extra 1TB hard drive with a new 3TB WD RED. Surprise, OS only recognizing 800GB, went into bios, the same thing. I'm getting ready to update bios to see if it's corrected. Has anybody had this same issue and maybe point me in the right direction to get this fixed.
Thanks so much,

ALWAYS remember to read up on things when trying to mix old and new hardware. The rule of thumb is to ask if the new device to add/upgrade existed when the older hardware was newer and supported. If the hardware is labeled Legacy with respect to the current time frame, I would reconsider the upgrade to something older to match.
