    Hi,

I just got an e-mail from register.com. They offer 50 cents domain registration til 24th of January so I think it's worth a shot. Click here for details.

Don't know mate I just received their newsletter e-mail. Didn't really bother to look it up closer. Try to re-check if you are added with some extra features during order or only domain registration.

Why do you need paypal? You can always go to webhosting companies which let you pay with paypal and let you register domains.

These days a lot of domain registers are offering .com domains very cheap as low as $2 and below so I know you'll def be able to find what your looking for it's just a matter of time and waiting.

I also got a email say a day or two ago from register.com they where offering domain for just $0.50 yea fifty cents only. Also I registered a domain for as low as $1.00 first year from godaddy Monday it was I believe so that sale may still be in action.

Also eya be sure to check in the cart of your register .com order and check to see if you added any extra services that's why maybe it came out to total price of $38 most times with sales that are so low they have items add auto to cart that you can remove

Register.com did the exact same thing to me, and I'm American born and raised. They create the .50 cent scam to get you on their site with a domain in your cart, then up the price to an absurd price with the hope that you'll go ahead with the purchase. It's pathetic.

Go Daddy has fantastic codes which will allow you to get .com's for $2 or less. I know they wont let you pay through Paypal for these transactions (for whatever reason), but isn't your Paypal linked to a bank account? If so, why not just add that bank account as an alternate payment method? If you can't do that, then my secondary advice would be to buy a prepaid debit card and buy them pay through it. That should work, I would think.

godaddy would allow .com registration for $2-$3 but then renewal would be $10-$15
Any registrar which would allow domain registration for 5 years in $10?

Not one that will still be in business for long (thus jeopardising your domain).

    Registrars have to pay:
    * the registries for the domains
    * run whois servers on an SLA
    * deal with registrants
    * pay ICANN fees (although some lump extra charges on you for that)
    etc

All those things add up - differences of scale, marketing budget, profits from other divisions etc may vary, if you're getting a .com for ~12$/year then its a good deal for you.

If you cant afford $12/year for your .com domain, then use a subdomain of your host.

bigrock.in has .com domains on sale for INR99 i.e less than $2. However, this is for new signups only

The BigRock 99 sale has ended already. They've used over a thousand coupons.
You can get a 35% discount on domains at BigRock if you use affiliate domain names, like aristrum.com though. These coupons don't expire.

Godaddy & Register.com both had such offers recently but both were payable via CC ONLY.
