    Static Wordpress site

For a wordpress site which is primarily going to be static (not updated very often),

What kind of settings should be adjusted or changed? Like I can remove RSS feeds, No need comments? What else?

Basically, it is not a blog but a professional site. So what's the suitable settings?

What exactly do you want to achieve?
    Secure it ?
Get a security plugin (WordFence or Bulletproof security), disable comments and user registrations and you should be all set.

  3. Note: Doing a Wordpress update every now and then is also useful for a website that changes rarely. With updates, Wordpress sometimes fixes some security critical bugs that might be critical even if you have user registration and comments disabled.

It really depends on your site. I usually have a static front page (instead of blog articles), but there's not that much that needs to be adjusted in WordPress.

If you don't want to update the site too often, try to use as few plugins as possible. Of course it's the right way to go in any case... WordPress core updates itself (within the major version, eg. 3.8.1 -> 3.8.2).

Probably, you should try looking at Wordpress Super Cache. It will be caching almost everything possible.

Please try to read the original post. That's not relevant.

I would first disable "revisions". If you're managed wordpress hosting like wpengine, this is probably already done for you.

Disable comment, ping back, plugins you don't use. Install Optimize WP DB plugin and limit login attempt plugin.

Change administrator username from "admin" to something else.

    Hope this helps.
