    Double Post Protection

Stops people from posting consecutive posts.

If noone has posted after a user, that same user's post is added to the above post and a new post is not created.

Samuel, was this meant to be a reply to another thread? If so, let us know and it can be merged.

I think Samuel meant to prevent a user from posting consecutive messages in the same thread. They can simply press edit and addon whatever they needed to instead of posting eveything in a new post. Correct me if I'm wrong Samuel.
Why do they call them fingers? I never seen them fing. Oh, there they go.

I actually think this is a great idea. There are people who litter their threads with multiple posts in a row, rather than just editing the text that's there.

There is a hack made, and it includes any new messages that a user posts in his previous message (during a duration of time) if no one has posted in between the user's posts. GamingSocietyX.com uses the system as far as I know, but I do not know what the hack is called.

May be easier if someone could find the hack. Maybe the thread starter knows where it is?

Exactly, it helps a group of moderators.

There is also a holding pen/recycle pen hack that's worked real well (To help gain feedback from other moderators)

We have both of these working real well on graphic forums.

The programmer that would impliment such a feature is welcome to e-mail me at samuel@mbshost.com for a demonstration if they cannot find it on vb.org.

Software review is getting it now but here is an overview

These hacks are meant to make the moderator's life easier.

When a problem thread is found, the moderator sends the trhead to a holding pen. While in the holding pen the thread has the new thread button, and post reply button replaced with "Restore" and "Delete"

Once the moderators have replied with their feedback, the moderatrors can choose to "Restore" it, which will send the thread back to the original forum (Saving the moderator having to remember, or know where the thread should go) or delete which sends it to the trash bin (Recycle Bin) whatever they have here at WHT.

When a moderator chooses which to use (Delete or Recycle) the moderaor will be leaving a "Moved Redirect) in the holding pen so other moderators can see who, and what has been a problem while they were away without having to ask other moderators, which cuts down on chatter between moderators and admins.

The double post hack is simply to cut down on the number of posts by users, or having to merge multipple posts etc.

    Its a mod saver.

(Edit: if the double post hack would have been in place, this post would have been added to the one above until someone else replies. This is not just for the post starter, but everyone).

So far these hacks have not hindered, or changed the usability of the forum as long as "Quick Reply Box" is also on the forum.

Suspend thread link was added to this system, and all of it is centered around an auto bot user.

I guess I should contact Robert formally

Couldn't this be done by just allowing people to delete there own posts or threads?
