Looking for software recommendations for a company forum.
We've had some clients requesting that we put up a company forum where clients can interact with staff and other clients and provide user-to-user support so I've been thinking about doing this for a while and now I have some projects in the works that would benefit from a company forum so I'm trying to find the right software for the job.
My first instinct was to grab a copy of MyBB but I wanted to explore other options and see what other people recommend since my forum experience is very limited from an admin perspective (and somewhat limited from a user perspective). The goal is to be very lightweight (not too many buttons/options/features), visually appealing (minimalism is best), and secure (there will be no sensitive data and I will not be linking it with our billing system but a good security track record is a must).
So what are your recommendations? I'm looking for both paid and free options (although it's 99% likely that I'll go with a free option unless there's a paid solution that is a perfect fit, but others might be looking for a paid option so throw them into the mix also).
