    Red face Namecheap Redesigned - Too Dull

    After MediaTemple (mt) So Namecheap changed their Template as well. But isn't it too Dull?
    It is bit better than their previous template but still its not really attractive template as a huge company.

    I think it looks great ... I am not a fan of the cartoony look of the Domain or Hosting industry.

    Namecheap Rocks

    I agree. The new design does not fit. It look too amateur in comparison to the previous one.

    ->No prices at first look
    -->If I don't read I don't now what's all about.
    --->The new trademark look is not fitting.
    ---->The colors don't match the company's image.
    ----->It does not mention the features right away.
    ------>Overall organization is a fail.

    Way to destroy a well known brand.

    My wife impression was "It looks nice, it resembles a lot bootstrap".

    Mine was: "Where am I?" Is this a blog? Did I typed the url correctly? Where are the prices? Is this namecheap?

    I went to web archive to look at the previous design. The previous one is so beautiful, it inspires confidence.

    As a known company you should not change designs like that. If you are going to change your trademark image, you should announce it(maybe i missed it), and evolve the website into the new one slowly. This way customers won't get confused. The image, the look, the colors, is what the customers remember of a trademark, imagine coca cola changing to blue from red. It would be a disaster.

    Are we sure namecheap didn't got defaced? ...

    I dislike designs like this. I did like the old one though. Just simple. But, the majority will like it.

    They are all utilizing bootstrap. We switched to it about a month ago. But personally i liked the other one better.

    The new design fits a non-profit, like a charity or something. Even a church LOL

    It is nice but looks a little bit like a blog design template. Personally I prefer the old design.

    Me too don't like this new design, it is not really looking attractive to me at all. It doesn't reflect the name / design of a "big company" who already has millions of customers.

    I think they should change it again to something more professional than just BIG & BOLD stuff.

    The design is modern but I prefer the old design, new design seems to be more suitable for viewing from much larger/higher screen resolution. I just noticed about the new design just now when I wanted to buy domains, not quite user friendly for my laptop screen size of 1366 x 768. The only thing I do is keep scrolling up and down. :/

    I really dislike it, think it looks far too generic now. It's what I'd expect one of those free modern web site templates that thousands of people use to look like.

    I miss the brighter colors, it's so boring and dull. To be 100% honest it looks like a ThemeForest template...

    Media Temple new design. So beautiful. It fits MT perfectly. The colors, the organization. I dont use them and I was about to just sign in just for the heck of following my emotions LOL.

    There are some basic tips when you have a very popular trademark like Namecheap, don't change the logo like that. Their new logo somehow reminded me of Network Solutions. Is namecheap the name says it all, you need to have some sort of look that is not too cheesy but at the same time appealing. I buy there domains because is cheap. And the previous look somehow represented that, the feel of premium for budget. I do work on developing websites and somehow this new look was not specifically designed for Namecheap. It's like someone pointed out, like a default template (is aspx so not likely). Maybe too generic. My main complain is that I just want to see the prices at first look and the special offers.

    From what I can see, basically they just wanted to change their website feel from "domains domains" to "get your website up". Which I don't think is the vision that made Namecheap so popular.

    Also the fonts and everything is too big. Maybe they are assuming everybody uses 1920 x 1080 HD television 42 inches. I can't imagine looking at the website with a greater DPI.

    Even GoDaddys website look better and easier.

    All IMHO. Respects to namecheap and their designers ^ ^

    I'm not a big fan, and personally it is as bad as TMZVPS new Bootstrap layout, yeah Bootstrap is amazing and I love it, however if your making a layout, you try and make it your own, not using the direct theme. TMZVPS layout to me looks cluttered and NameCheap's new layout is like "In your face" Big Font, Big this and Big That.

    The old version of TMZVPS and Namecheap are better because they was unique and actually tried to make a nice appealing site you want to buy from, you gain trust and your first opinion on the website.

    A bad design, pulls people away, which is why people who do webdesign put 110% into it to make it better than their current one, and keeps the professionalism. But that's my opinion.

    Yeah SiteGround website is appealing on the desktop and Mobile. It fits in overall and nothing is out of place, not sure on their logo as I've not heard of them before.

    Then MT, well I love their layout because, One I know it's MT, their logo is the same, it's got their same theme as before, nice dark colours with a splash of bright colours (The beach and the cyan highlighter). The menu is perfect and straight to the point, their site isn't cluttered and it looks good on the desktop and mobile. Not sure if it is bootstrap however it acts like it.

    This is how the world of graphic design works, someone says I like this logo and the designer comes up with similar idea.

    In my opinion, the design is pretty good & each page looks like a landing page. However, for a company as big as Namecheap, it may not be very appropriate. Designs like these look perfect on startups but not on established businesses. Despite the design change on the main website of Namecheap, the control panel design still looks the same.

    If they change the control panels base design to something similar to the current design (huge bulky and confusing), I think i'll have to move my domains. I don't want to have to deal with that every time I login to manage my domains. I usually am not a huge fan of GoDaddy, but I think they need to recrute some GoDaddy designers

    Ultimately, NameCheap's redesigned site is...well...designed to attract online users to try their services. The tabs below the big wording can give some clues.

    Only time will tell how that design works out for them, especially depending on their objectives and (maybe) the feedback they receive from their customers and prospects.
