    moving companies

Do you think a lot of people will leave crocweb?

And if they do would now be a time where you may see more hosts offering Canadian hosting services?

I do not use them (I have my own company) I use multiple companies for backups and redundancy. I just thought I would ask the question. Because I have seen before when hosts have had issues Where new companies will come in or smaller companies and offer the same or similar services and then within a few months be gone.

By the look of customer replies, I think a lot of people will leave CrocWeb but I don't think more Canadian hosting providers will pop up. I'm sure CrocWeb has everything under control and we'll just have to read what CW has to say when everything is back to normal.

People will not really make the move, as this is something very rare with CrocWeb, just a bad timing... but people are growing impatient as this downtime does cost people business, hopefully a credit or a free month will help clients out.

It really depends on how CrocWeb deals with the whole situation. There will surely be a loss of a certain amount of clients. How many is truly up to them. If they rectify the situation with a genuine explanation of what happened, how, and why it might not again, they may keep some clients considering leaving. Throw account credit into the mix, and you may have some people happy it happened.

Crocweb offer a good service, of course there will be handful of clients who will leave due to this issue. I think people are getting more stressed about the lack of information and updates they have been told rather then the downtime its self.

I know there is only so much information you can give, but all they want to see that there is a CrocWeb presence.

Most people will leave Crocweb not because of the actual DDOS attack, but because of their poor communication...

Over the years I have seen companies have outages over and over and over again and every time they do the same people are posting on the forums about it. The point is, they keep complaining but they don't leave. I am not familiar with Crocweb but if this is the first major issue they have had in a long time I have a feeling most people will stay.

Just go ahead and check the outages forums and you will see many of the same hosts in the subject over and over again. You would think if people were leaving in masses there would be no one left to post at a certain point.

I want to chime in on the communication remarks. Wholeheartedly agree with that. Customers appreciate communication. Even if it's to tell them that we're still down but this is what's happening. Based on what I've read on social media, the long periods of no information is what will cause clients to leave CrocWeb in my opinion.

If you are big enough to have such a big effect in forums and on so many people based on downtime, then you wouldn't lose all of your clients. At that point you have so many that it would take a giant event to close you down. Some clients just don't care, some understand, some don't want to bother switching, etc.

Its tough to say, Im not entirely familiar with the situation, but as long as they are able to restore customer accounts. I dont think you will the majority of the people leave as I believe most people do not take back-ups as they should. So even if people want to leave right now, they probably wont be able to until everything is back on-line.

I agree with you mate, I've had two customers say they will be leaving, one posted a bad review here, and still is with us today. The other one was complaining because a customer had a bad ping to the server, he's not replied to the ticket for over 2 months. It's just people impatient and tired.
