If your server is totally down, there is no way to get any files out of course.
Your best option is to contact your host to find out why your server is down, and maybe get them to get in online again. Then you can get your files.
Then you will remember later on that you always keep your own backup files on off site servers and/or at your home computer.

Don't quite understand you, but you are using a host for your VPS?
If yes, contact support and ask for help. Maybe they can help you, if not you have a serious problem.

Why didn't you setup a remote backup for your vps?

If it is down, did you contact your provider?

Unfortunately if you don't have the files already backed up, you can't get them off the VPS until it is online again (it's like trying to move files off of a computer that is turned off).

Contact your provider. They should be able to help you get the VPS running again, after which point you should be able to get your files again. Good luck

I had a similar issue with 64u.com, vps node was online and was the vps itself but no network access, they were using VMware, theres a guest file utility which let's you access the vps node.

Morale of the story, always have offsite backups so you can restore elsewhere.

    Sorry to hear

sorry to hear your VPS was down; and your files were not online. Maybe it's time to shop around a bit.

Right, we provide out of band access and ways to salvage data in most instances. I'm not sure who the OP's host is, but he should contact that host and see what can be done on their end. No one at WHT can get his data for him.

Glad to hear it. Make sure you back up in the future so you won't have to worry about the same thing occurring
