Add domain/website in unmanaged vps?
I purchased new vps. It is unmanaged vps without cpanel.
I want add domain and upload my data in that domain.
Centos is installed in my vps
How can i do this
Please guide me in brief.
There will be a lot of SSH'ing. Try to use some free VPS control panels, like Webmin.

You need to point the DNS of your domain to your new VPS's IP address. You then need to install a webserver (I prefer apache) on your VPS (yum install httpd).
Then once apache is installed run these commands to start the webserver:
service httpd start
chkconfig httpd on
You will then need to add your domain as an apache vhost by using the following options in your /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file:
once you have made these changes, restart apache:
service httpd restart

Just install some free control panel. zpanel is the closest to cpanel. and after that you should be able to setup everything by your self. Ask your hosting company to install zpanel for you, it is pretty simple thing and even on unmanaged hosting provider their support should be able to install it for you.
If they ask money contact me and I will install it for you for free, it is really simple, 2 minute job.
I have used Virtualmin (on top of Webmin) for 2 years now, and I'm really happy with it. and its free.
It's really easy to install on your CentOS server from SSH (use putty.exe)
Remove the * before http
Then you can create domains, e-mail accounts, MySQL databases etc very easy.
+1 for Virtualmin.
It's not the best looking, but it's frequently updated and very secure.
IF the only your requirement to add domain you can install Cpanel and use it for 15 days as trial,. In that period you can setup everything and then you can use FTP to maintain your site.

Go for some free control panel like Kloxo or Virtualmin. It should be easy once you have installed them.
If you don't have experience, you can try to ask support, maybe they will help with installation for free.
+1 Virtualmin (although Kloxo is not bad either). Both are free and very pleasent to use.

I use Webmin / Virtualmin as well, I really recommend you to check these out. They might not have the best looks, but it has everything you need to manage your VPS, and it's free.
Install in 2 steps:
Webmin is a great free control panel used today on servers. It's very easy to install there are also many free scripts online that you run and it'll do all the work for you by installing webmin and configuring it.
Cpanel is a great paid control panel and it's price isn't bad at all but if you need a free alternative control panel then there's webmin , kloxo and many many more.
OMG! I didn't know about these control panel softwares.
Do you guys mean, that I could go now and get any plan I want from DigitalOcean or Linode unmanaged and make it managed with these control panel softwares?
I have always wanted to host my websites with DigitalOcean or Linode, because they're quite reliable... BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MANAGE IT.
As long as the control panel is supported by the operating system installed then you can use any of them.
Administration, however, will be up to you if the VPS is unmanaged.
