    Servercrate down

My servercrate VPS has been down for almost a day now, according to their twitter they're receiving a 100Gbps+ DDoS attack.

For your own benefit I will inform you that ServerCrate and the related brands are highly likely to incur denial-of-service and other malicious attacks due to actions of the owner, which will remain unnamed. Let's just say; he got involved with the wrong crowd and now he's paying for it. Perhaps ponder hosting your VPS elsewhere?

    Hi Minecraftguy,

    https://twitter.com/servercrate
    https://twitter.com/robertjfclarke

Not sure if Robert has a WHT profile but that's the two twitter accounts which you are best following.

His provider he used for bandwidth posted an nfdump snip of the attack that he was getting last night on IRC:

    [01:10:20] <+ChrisK> 2014-01-06 00:50:00.002 299.997 any 198.52.235.98 271550(99.2) 1.8 G(99.2) 2.8 T(99.8) 6.1 M 73.7 G 1518

Here's also a thread on VPSBoard regarding the outage: https://vpsboard.com/topic/3123-robe...internet-down/

It created an issue for Dell too: https://puck.nether.net/pipermail/ou...ry/006397.html

We had multiple customers at colo@/wiresix open tickets with complaints about their sites being down which turned out to be connectivity issues. There was massive packet loss at Atrato. Nearly all of the attack was going through ATL. Even my west coast stuff, if I traced to servercreate was going LAX->ATL->DFW.

Trimmed some of the sensitive data out:

I have gear in Colo@/Wiresix and I didn't see any problems so that's really strange.

We had 6 people (6 sets of servers) with problems. Kaniini confirmed with me that Atrato was busted in ATL aswell from what they had told him.
Mostly was from Europe to USA that had the problems.

Didn't Robert also exploit a solusvm vulnerability at Ram Node and end up causing quite a bit of damage there?

He does but he was banned about 2 weeks after the Solus events last Summer.

Yeah, he certainly did. Both those occurrences and his ignorant actions on HackForums left him in some trouble.

Looks like they took the status page down. Why hide downtime?

Now it seems like that although servercrate is promising 1Gbit/s, their CDR is only 100Meg according to the datacenter staff (to which servercrates owner Robert Clarke likes to refer to as peasants).

Seems like this whole company is just a big fraud.
