    Advice on VPS Type

    Hi there,

i just need some advice to choose the right type of VPS.

I had an VPS at hosteurope which i am very plased with - but now i ran into an problem which needs to change the vps.

hosteurope is using parallels technology which has that beancounters configuration where maxtcpsocks, maxconnectionslimits etc. is set.

now i have recognized that many vps providers are setting those limits very low - so the question is - which arent doing this? which technology avoids that problems?

which virtualization technology doesnt have that limitations. is it just parallels?

i found a nice kvm-based VPS (which should be completely virtualized) - so i assume i will not have that problems there - correct?
    how about xen?

I just need a neat vps where are no connection limits or sockslimit or whatelse are set.

    many thanks for your advice!

    brgs,

You should look for XEN / KVM VPS.

KVM would most likely be your best option in this case. Even some OpenVZ providers have these limits set.

For good performance i would recommend to give KVM powered VPS. since it will give you dedicated resources, in compare to OpenVZ platform.

OpenVZ is slightly quick (less wastage of server resources)since it's not a complete form of visualization but donot dedicated resources(RAM). But for control, security, dedicate resources go with KVM(1st) or XEN(2nd).

It would be great to checkout companies policies regarding Resource Usage and server Configuration.
