My dedi rebooted
and I'm not sure why.
So I checked /var/log/messages and I got this,

Someone at the Datacenter may have KVM'd (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) onto your machine and used that KVM to issue a reboot command to the machine. That's just a guess, but considering the devices it linked up with that's what I would guess at.

Unsure why they would. I mean, I don't have KVM access myself.

Some Datacenters have KVM setup so they can easily do remote maintenance. For something simple like a machine reboot, they can simply connect to the machine and issue the reboot as opposed to walking across the facility to physically issue the command at the machine.
Also, Datacenter access =/= your access. You may not have that capability, but their setup may be wired for it, who knows really. Again it was simply a guess on my part

I find it rather odd that it took 10 minutes to reboot. Maybe they had to perform maintenance on your rack. Though I would assume that they would notify you prior to performing any sort of maintenance like that.
Could also just have been a mistake.█ Loop Internet

Your best bet would be to contact them and ask them.

Like others have said, ask your provider and see what they have to say.

If they did something they would know. If they didnt do anything, and you didnt touch the server then you would need to do further investigating.
