    Fast and reliable host needed

I am in the need for a very reliable and fast host for my eCommerce site. I have been with HostGator for several years, but just can't take it anymore. I need to switch ASAP.

I am not looking for cheap hosting, my site makes good money. Uptime and speed are critical to me.

I have read hundreds (if not thousands) of reviews of hosts and they are all over the place.

I would appreciate any host recommendations you could provide.

I run a ZenCart site that needs 10gig of storage. I only average about 200 visitors a day. My sales are of school education PDF doucments and average download is 50meg. I need great response time for site page loads and download speed.

I am willing to pay to get the best.

    Can anyone help me out.

    Thanks,
    Andy

If your site is so critical to you, I would advise against "cheap".

Where do you need your site hosted, any specific locations?

Reliablehostingservices.net is a good host. I've used them almost 2 years ago without problems.

Correct, I am NOT looking for cheap hosting, but fast and reliable hosting.

Needs to be hosted in the USA. Most customers are on the east coast.

    what is preferred location??
You should select location on the basis of region from which you get most visitors.

I have not. I read somewhere where they were owned by EIC (like HostGator) and do not want any host owned by EIC.

Consider US central or US East. Preferred location can be:
New York, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas etc.

One type of service that has the potential to provide increased availability is a Cloud Server, instead of a standard dedicated server or non-highly available VPS. The resources assigned to the Cloud Server are dedicated to you, you manage the server (or have a company manage it for you) and run your site(s). You can also grow/shrink resource assignments pretty easily if you ever need to change the size of your Cloud Server.

hmm ,avoid cheap if you want quality because in anyway cheap led to disaster . Better to go with any reliable and solid state drive hosted servers for shared hosting .If provider located in your timeline or match your country timeline ,it would be + point yet if provider has 24X7 true hosting support ,you cab shoot them once !

Try them as test for one month and then mark it final .Frankly ,until you not try the same ,you won't get your best choice !

Using ZenCart with only around 200 visitors a day I can't imagine why the site would need anything beyond shared hosting. Anything East coast that's not oversold like crazy should be just fine.

Just because he's willing to pay for quality doesn't mean he needs to throw money away.

yes, why not go for a shared hosting plan that will suffice your needs. As far as suggestions are concerned, you can visit to the offers section here on WHT. Once your requirements grow, you can always upgrade to a vps.

I have decided to add knownhost to the list. So between knownhost, site5, and arvixe, what is the best option for speed and reliability?

Thanks for all of your help!

    Would recommend KnownHost.

I have used KH for 2 years now and their speed is fast.

Haven't had a noticeable downtime before (neither did my 3rd party monitoring tool trigger any alert before too).

Response is professional, prompt and friendly too.

You could test all three providers yourself to see which one is the fastest for you by taking them up on the money back guarantee that that they offer.

I would recommend a shared hosting with ahadow account. If one of your ecommerce goes down other becomes live. This setup works really well with 100% uptime without loosing a single client.

That's good news, Andy. It's great to hear you found a host that fits your needs and you're happy. Please be sure to give the community an update after a few weeks or months for others that may be in a similar situation as you were.
