Registering .link domain names?
I was recently trying to make a URL shortener and had trouble finding a good name. I came across the .link domain and could immediately think of hundreds of different names that would work great.
101domain seems to be the only place that allegedly registers .link domains, though I am under the impression that it's not available and is in a sunrise period or something of that sort.
I am wondering if 101domain is legit, and I can register a .link domain, or if there is some other way to register the domain?
Or is the .link just not available now as I originally thought?

101domain is a legitimate registrar.
They are currently advertising pre-registration of new TLDs for trademark holders only (i.e., what's known as "sunrise period") - their web site is pretty clear about this.

.link is still at least 4 months out of general availability, possibly longer. Just something to keep in mind. As it gets closer, providers will start taking pre-registrations where they will try to get the domain you want the moment it comes available.
