Unhappy Google - Did they change something around Nov 14th?

One of my sites (blog) around the 14th took a drop of around 300 visitors a day to about 60-80 and it has held that since.

At first, I thought it was because my host moved the account to a new server...but there has been no DNS issues or anything as it was a very fluid pass of the torch from one to the other. That's when I started plugging away at the stats installed to see if there has been a change in one of the traffic sources.

Looking at the history chart, it was a solid ride and over night it crashed like the stock market in 2008 and has been riding low ever since. I looked at my traffic source stats and the only number that took a drastic hit was........Google. So they must have changed something and that hurts badly.

Google make ~500 changes/tweaks/alterations to the ranking algorithm every year, so there is a pretty good chance that that changed more than one thing on Nov 15.

Without knowing the URL, no one can tell you what the issue was with your site.

Google Dance is a pretty outdated term, mainly connected to rank changes during periods of rebuilding the Google Rank. However those changes rarely exceeded a period of a few days, which is not the case here. And when Google started making updates on a weekly basis the "Dance" was no longer relevant.

Yes. You can always tell who the SEO Kiddies and wannabes are when they start talking about the 'Google Dance' - the last one was way back in 2003! >10 yrs ago!
