Installing SSL without Dedicated Ip
please I have a vps.
I want to learn how to enable my cpanel clients to be able to install ssl on their domains using SNI technology.
I tried doing this on a cpanel but after uploading the certificate, I can't see "Setup a SSL Certificate to work with your site" under SSL/TLS Manager
Can you please guide me how to enable this on my vps ?
Does your OS support SNI ?
If you have CentOS / RHEL 6 and cPanel 11.38+, your server supports SNI and can install SSL without dedicated IP. SSL installation via WHM is recommended and through cPanel, it isn't recommended.
I have CentOS 5 and cPanel 11.40.1
Does it not support CentOS 5 ? if I should upgrade to 6, will I not loss everything on the server and have to start afresh ?
CentOS 5 doesn't support SNI. Get a new CentOS 6 server with cPanel and migrate your accounts to it. Your host can help you to do this, if you are under a managed plan.
Yes, that is right. It can be done with a server with CentOS 6.x and cPanel. To know more about SNI, refer

OK! Thanks pals!
I am contacting my vps provider now to upgrade my CentOS to the latest version so that I can have this feature.
It is not just that, don't forget that SNI does not work on Windows XP + Internet Explorer (7,8,9), so it is better to don't take the risk because many of people are still using Windows XP.
