    Weird FTP problem with Plesk

We are facing issues with FTP in a Linux server which has plesk installed on it. The user can login, but an error occurs

    Response: 550 PWD: Permission denied
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

If we create an additional FTP user and map it to the httpdocs directory, then it works without issues, but if we create another user and map it to the / directory of the website, the user faces the same error. I tried creating another website on the same server and the ftp user can login to it without issues. I wonder what could be wrong. I compared all the settings and permissions from another server and everything seems perfect. How can I resolve this issue? I would like to inform you here that the server is actually a Virtuozzo container.

The permissions are proper. The root directory has root:root and the httpdocs directory has user:psaserv assigned. I compared the permissions with other websites and also websites on other servers and all permissions are perfect.

Likely they can use passive mode to get their directory listing.

Not so sure about the 550, but with containers this can usually be corrected by opening a PASV hole in the firewall and changing the FTP configuration to recognize the change.

This was an instance with CSF under cPanel & WHM, but can likely be translated to a Plesk environment. It should serve only as an example as I haven't used Plesk in some time. Maybe someone can elaborate on this.

I created another website in the same server and the FTP works fine. If firewall was the case, then none of them should work.
