Apple's new Mac Pro is out!

Apple's new Mac Pro is out today starting $2,999 up to $12K.

Anyone would be getting one of those? Share your experience with the Mac Pro here please.

I'm pretty happy with my Mac Mini at the moment, doing video editing with 16 GB RAM and i7 is good enough for me. But won't mind getting me one of those black beauty

Been using a Mac Pro since the month it was first released in 2006, and that one just died on my mom a couple weeks ago. On the early 2009 now and won't be upgrading any time soon. Upped the RAM in it, but the CPU still does well.

Had a G5 before that, a G4 before that. You get the picture

The are rock solid computers. A little pricey for the hardware you get, but the overall experience is tough to beat.

My work just picked up a Mac Pro for me, this a upgrade from my Mac Mini. I am a graphic designer, and it has made my life so much easier. The Mac Mini would struggle on some of the larger projects, no problems now.

MacBook Pro is very good I purchased my new MacBook Pro from best buy with two year accidental protection and if came out to like $1900 and of course I got the 8GB 256gb flash set up I don't regret purchasing it at all was a very very great buy and I would buy another one if I had the money.

  6. Imo its way expensive for what you get.

There is a definite price premium for sure, especially compared to build-your-own Windows or Linux options. I think it can be a good value in certain instances, though, depending on what you're doing with it.

Should the average consumer buy a Mac Pro? No. But it's great for certain kinds of consumers.

Aimed at a specific market, and not really affordable to one of Apples everyday customers. I have however been able to see/use one and they are amazing!

Very expensive, pay more for the Apple name than the product.

I would probably have multiple 4K displays ^_^, currently I'm 'limited' to 27" iMac with 32 gigs mem, and a Thunderbolt display - but for me, that's completely ok!

I find Mac Pro rather expensive, I wouldn't buy it myself, since I don't do super heavy stuff, maybe if I have a terminal open And afaik it doesn't require that amount of power!

But yeah, it looks awesome, and if I did graphic design or something really hardware specific stuff, I would go for it.

For normal day to day, 32 gigs mem, 3.5ghz i7, and the 4GB GTX780M is jut fine for server administration and programming

Sadly I actually don't do any gaming on my Mac, I never feel I have the time for it

But when I have time, I usually switch to my windows PC, which is having better hardware for gaming in general But if I remember correct, I haven't played games in 2014

Yea they can, but she wanted something small that would share the monitor, keyboard and mouse with her main machine by flipping a switch.

Apple products are great, but some of them are well overpriced especially the Mac Pro.

The latest Mac Mini server scales up to to 16GB of RAM with a 2.6Ghz Quad Core CPU and an SSD drive, so performance is pretty impressive, I use two of them at home and love them. In saying that, hopefully a long overdue refresh sees light of day at WWDC.

Using the same thing right now, but just one. Why do you need two?

One runs Windows Server (late 2012 with bootcamp) and the other Mac OSX Server and Parallels for virtual machines (late 2010). The 2010 model takes 16GB of RAM (states max 8GB) so with an SSD & RAM upgrade it's a perfect bit of kit to keep around. Still my favourite piece of Apple hardware
