Keep the theme. Or maybe use on of the classic ones.

I think you underestimate our members. Many of them will speak out if there's something they don't like, and often they do.
I'm curious. You've been a member for more than two years and this is your first post. Would an updated theme encourage you to visit and post more?

Even if it would, you must consider your target audience. If WHT is seeking to acquire new members that prioritize visual representations over-top valuable information then perhaps WHT should look into providing such theme updates. Contrarily, if WHT wishes to keep their target audience the same a professional setting with constant flow of information should suffice. Feedback, if however an integral part of customer relations and business development.
To assume perfection is merely a display of ignorance.

The theme is good, but they should give more choices too.

I personally like it the way it is. Easy to read and navigate your way around.
To many forums spend to much time on their themes, only to make the site "pretty" but harder to find your way around.

I like this theme very much no need to change it.
Failure is success if we learn from it.

I would not mind if we kept the same overall theme design but had a color choice. Some may like the native blue, others may want Green.
However, the layout of this theme is very nice. I would not trade the layout at all.

I like the theme here, it's basic, but readable, but yea, don't "up"grade to VB4 or 5, please. lol
If anything, change to another software like Xenforo or Burning board 4.

...or, they lurked without an account before registering. I was here and reading for around a year before I registered
Personally, I'm quite happy with how WHT looks at the moment as well! Don't think it needs changing (unless the powers that be want to move to xenforo, which would be very nice!)Alasdair

So to the OP - you have made one post and that's only to point out it is an outdated theme. Obviousy you are not the type of person this forum is aimed at. The people it is aimed at have made thousands of posts, so they like it. You do what your customers like, not what the window shoppers would like you to do.

The design is fine, just would have to work on source code and css, responsive and html5.
Instead of using image for degrade could be done with css3.
this will help a bit in loading the page.
an example are the designs of
xenforo.com

I use Stylebot from the Chrome Web Store to slightly modify the CSS of WHT so it remains pleasing to the eyes with no 10px verdana font

And if you feel like adding some colors, you can use this css with the plugin.
Code:#post_message_8984971 { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } #post_message_8985310 { font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px; } @import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato); div h3 a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 18px; text-decoration: none; color: #4968a1; } div.normal { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; } div.page div p { font-family: Lato; font-size: 32px; } div.smallfont a { text-decoration: none; } div.smallfont div a { line-height: 24px; text-decoration: none; } div.smallfont h1 strong { font-family: Lato; font-size: 18px; } div.smallfont h4 a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 13px; text-decoration: none; } div.tr a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } fieldset.fieldset div label { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } h5 a strong { font-family: Lato; font-size: 15px; color: #217530; } input.button { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } li a span { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; } ol li a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px; border-style: none; } p.smallfont a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; } span.navbar strong { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; text-transform: none; } span.smallfont { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; } strong a strong { text-decoration: none; } td.smallfont strong { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } td.tcat { border-style: none; border-width: 0; font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px; background-color: #28365c; } td.tcat a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 18px; } td.thead { font-family: Lato; font-size: 12px; background-color: #28365c; } td.vbmenu_control a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; } ul li a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 13px; text-decoration: none; } li.on a { font-family: Lato; font-size: 18px; border-style: none; } div.smallfont div { background-color: #dceaf7; } tbody tr td { font-family: Lato; } td.alt1 { font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px; background-color: #f2f8fc; border-style: none; border-width: 0; } td.alt1Active { background-color: #f2f8fc; } div.smallfont { color: #000000; font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; } table.tborder { border-style: none; } div.container { border-style: none; } #navigation { border-style: none; } div.container ul li { border-style: none; } span.time { color: #999; } td.alt1Active div { background-color: #f2f8fc; } div.panel { background-color: #f2f8fc; } td.alt2 { border-color: #ffffff; border-style: none; color: #000000; font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px; background-color: #dceaf7; } td.panelsurround { background-color: #dceaf7; }
