I wanted to ask where to advertise/market to get customers, i currently run a small sized, offer vps/webhosting/dedicated servers etc.... have been around for a couple of years, but i cant seem to get alot of clients,
WebHostingTalk is a great place to start advertising. Once you reach a certain amount of post counts you can advertise here in the Advertising Forums section which would definitely get you some more customers if you just keep at it
If you haven't already, make yourself stand out (positively) as a host -- It'll get you more attention and recognition leading to increased sales.
We tend to find that niche sites tend to yield the best results--Facebook Ads, while nice, are really not suited for web hosting (how many people log into Facebook and say, gee, let me think about getting some webhosting?). BTW, we had the same experience with Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
With 2k clients, you should be generating a number of word-of-mouth referrals, is that not the case?

Two of the best places to advertise are WHT(webhostingtalk) what your on now and another great place is in your local community. Advertising local is one of the key things to do when marketing services as it may be that your the only person or business providing that service on that area which makes the people I that area only know about you and not the others on the web now what I mean? Think of it as with web hosting local advertising for you in a sandbox to yourself.
Online forums are the best place to advertise now remember follow rules and be sure to follow guidelines you don't want to be suspended or banned from a web site and have that privilege taken away.
Next can be some paid advertising do you know anyone with a web site that has free adspace available? Offer them a fixed amount of money for your ad or site banner to be placed on their site with a link.
Also blog commenting with leaving a link back to your site is a great thing to do.
I dont know about webhostingtalk advertisement, i recently spent $5k on facebook ads, and got soo much traffic yet no orders,
thats pretty shocking -> surely that cant be normal though? $5k with no returns?
You mentioned, you have been around since 06? One thing I want to say, is that I have in the past recommended webhosting companies that were absolutely amazing, but their site design looked outdated and the response from people I made the recommendation to was outrightly rude.
I am just saying, that there may be things on your current site that you can change, that can improve conversions. And I have seen some examples before of 2 amazing site designs, (both for the same company) yet one layout had a significantly better rate of conversion.
