Looking to rent some IP address space

    Hi,

I am trying to get my own block of IPs from ARIN for multihome but am told that in order to do so I would require a preexisting block have my WHOIS information on it.

I`m simply wondering if anyone here can either do that for me or refer me to someone who could.

    Thank you .

    /derp

I think that means you must already own an IP, so if you have your own VPS server or something with a domain attached that should have your information in the whois.

Well at least the VPS I have doesn't come with more than one or two IP addresses, and those IPs are assigned to my host. To get your own block you need 2,048 addresses assigned to you.

edit: also, they don't mean the WHOIS information on a domain name, but rather the WHOIS information on the IP address itself.

You need more than just a /23 in order to get your initial allocation from ARIN as an ISP.

You also need to show proof that you will be multi-homing and show contracts with at least two providers.

If you're requesting space as an end-user, you need to show more than a /23 of usage.

I think OP is saying they are going to remain single-homed (could be wrong), which does require an existing /21.

Question for OP: If you're only running with two addresses now, how do you plan to show justification for just a large block?

    When were /23's ever mentioned? 2048 IPs = /21.

Actually single homed requires a /20.

I have more than just two addresses, however, this block is for something new which I can justify. I was simply responding to Kevin's post, and I said that most servers don't have more than a couple addresses.

Anyhow. Does anyone have any amount of IP addresses they could loan to me for the purpose of this?
