Chose CentOS or Ubuntu for Wordpress?

Was looking at EuroVPS to set up my Wordpress camp and they offer both CentOS and Ubuntu. Does anyone have any experience over which is better suited for Wordpress? I would love to get Nginx and Varnish setup for a speedy website so please take that into account as well.

Most here will vote for CentOS as most of us uses cPanel. And cPanel do not support Ubuntu.

The basic differences between CentOS and Ubuntu is CentOS is based off of Red Hat and Ubuntu is based off of Debian. Ubuntu is a good, easy to use desktop and a perfect starter server for those who are willing to learn Linux and don't know where to start.

If you are considering w.r.t performance of wordpress, there won't be any difference. You won't feel any performance difference on a small VPS.

CentOS is good, easy to manage and many people prefer it. But Debian is also very good if you don't want to use cPanel on your server. It is very flexible, stable and powerful and one of the best OS preferred on plain servers.

CentOS 6 is the best choice, IMO.

CentOS, being a derivative of Red Hat, is closer to an enterprise grade solution. That being said, they're both great and will not pose performance differences.

It doesn't matter. I use both. It has nothing to do with WordPress.
The OS difference are OS-level, not CMS-level.

CentOS or Ubuntu, whatever. You will need some experience about performance tuning system (Apache, Nginx, MySQL, PHP-FPM, ...). With system engineer, CentOS vs Ubuntu no different, It's linux. Read some config tutorial in http://www.cyberciti.biz

I choose CentOS for my system and customer.
