Has anyone tried this and experienced good results compared to not having it? A system where users earn such and such amount of money per post/thread/review etc... It's a forum in a tech niche. We have 45k uniques and 180k pageviews a month, but relatively low posting level given the amount of uniques and pageviews. Mostly newbies looking for info, so I understand. But just trying to find a way to get them to post more. Even if it's about their grandmother's cat in off topic
I just made subscribe to thread with email notifications the default option when posting. should have done that a long time ago.
If you have money, I would suggest hiring 2 or 3 good writers as your staff and ask them to contribute to your forum. Let them write on topics that are relevant and helpful.
Don't pay every user to post. When money comes into picture, the quality drops. And you will end up spending more time validating what is written (whether copied from elsewhere etc).
Yes, if you have money, then you have to hire writers who may write some thing relevant. Because if you will pay to all then it will become painful for you to validate the postings.
