Server Load Getting high (Turbo VPS)

    Hello,

Recently I moved from dedicated server to Turnkeyinternet Turbo VPS having 8GB of Ram and 8 cpus.

Well I have noticed extremely strange thing I mean I have matched what we were having on old dedicated server and install everything on the newly ordered vps, our website is based on WordPress and has got large database, we are using wp super cache plugin and for object cache using memcache but still the load sometimes go high upto 4% by having php process consuming lots of cpu.

I am unable to understand why its happening, traffic is extremely low now a days but still all this.

Please suggest, also pertinent to mention results of some commands

    [email protected] [/home/emobilez/public_html]# iostat

Hello, that sounds like a technical issue of some sort - if you have not already I'd suggest submitting a ticket to our support team, they can assist you. If you already have, feel free to PM the ticket number, I'll be happy to see where it's at on our end.

Granted a dedicated server likely will be faster than a VPS in most cases, what you are describing could be a technical item at the software level, dns lookups getting stuck, to something hardware based (i.e. in the VPS node, unlikely but we can at least help rule it out for you)

Did Turnkeyinternet provide any advice or suggestion?
8GB Ram & 8 CPUs VPS is a monster VPS and should be able to handle heavy usage.
It is not abnormal for php process to use more than 50% CPU occasionally.
Server load average is only 1 which looks ok to me.
