    Hosting.co.uk Reviews needed

    Hi there,
Recently I heard about hosting.co.uk, I had visited their site and spoke with their staff. It seems they provide good service with professional support but I couldn't find enough review of them around the web.
Can you help me by providing some review about them?

Never heard of them. Whois says they're not even a UK company.
I like WebhostingBuzz for UK hosting.

Quite funny you say that, WebHostingBuzz and Hosting.co.uk are the same company. They are both hosting brands of Namecheap.

^ Should be edited, but can't find the edit button. Apologies - they're not the same company, just some of the same people involved.

    Namecheap doesn't own WebhostingBuzz.

    Nor do they own Hosting.co.uk
    - This other entity is not a UK entity
    - That registered owner is in Luxembourg.
    - i.e., there's nothing "co.uk" about it, and it obviously has no relation to WHB.

WHB is a UK company with UK owners/employees, registered in the UK.
You can't get much more British than that!

I can only imagine the reviewers here are not using the service for development. Perhaps hosting.co.uk is OK for running pre-installed stuff like WordPress. Trying to develop a bespoke system is very difficult here. It's shared hosting so I didn't expect full access but they won't even provide basic log files, error logs etc. The backend is horrendously slow and buggy - good luck if you need to do anything with the database via PHPMyAdmin. Frequently crashes or times out. Also, FTP access is intermittent and the connection is frequently dropped, even seconds after using it. Online customer service is robotic.

If you are looking to write anything bespoke do not use this host. It may be fine for basic sites but for anything more it's dreadful, and developing with it is like pulling teeth. Avoid.

(The only reason I am using it is because a client picked it, refusing to listen to my recommendations or advice. Then again, the client is a cheapskate.)
