    At what voltage? We have had 1950s pulling around 1.5a - 2a @ 240V. They are quite power hungry, we are currently phasing them out.

    You'd save money by replacing it.

    Not only do they suck power but put off lots of heat too. Replace if you can now!

    R210II and other small 1U server save you a lot $$$ from power.
    Dell 1950 is aged
    History of more or less the same performance models
    1950 --> R300 --> R210 --> R210II

    You show another disadvantage of using aged model.

    Changing or not a new model depends on the rate of power charge.

    I would have thought the history was:

    1950 -> R610 -> R620 (Dual Socket)
    R300 -> R310 -> R320 (Single Socket)
    860 -> R200 -> R210 -> R210 II (Single Socket)

    I might be wrong, but it seems to make more sense.

    I thought there was no definite answer. I was assuming I was buying a new server.

    R200, R310, R320 R610, R620 are not sold well globally I bet so I did not include them.

    If I were looking for a single processor, 4GB Ram and Raid 1 HDD, 1950, R300, R210 and R210II would have been my choices in the last few years.

    Thats why I did not mention all the others.

    We had some 1950/2950 pulling more than 400W. Nowdays there is no reason to still using such servers, low performance compared to E5 and too much power
