What do you put in your Skeleton Directory?
What do you put in your Skeleton Directory for newly hosted accounts? Do you know a good resource for sample files?

You don't necessarily have to put anything in there. I suppose it's more down to if you have any need to put anything there. Some hosts put up a temporary landing page to their own website until the client has had time to upload something, but a lot of hosts that I've seen just leave it as is.

It really depends on the server admins taste or how ever he feels. It's not a mandatory thing to have to have anything in there but some people just so happen to want to upload their own landing page or docs there.

Thanks I have always disliked new installs that don't put anything in the home dir. Like a .htaccess file and some kind of index file. If anything to stop the basic scan of websites with scripts when users don't do anything for a few days for whatever reason. Thanks again

Some providers use them to put scripts such as wordpress or joomla, so it "speeds up" the process for users that purchased hosting for that purpose...
