Your budget and the amount of CPU cores are going to be a problem, it's not possible for the budget.
Either settle for lower standards or increase your budget.

I'd be happy to know who else can offer 12 cores / 24 threads for 50 USD or cheaper

You'd need to increase your budget for such CPU Power, otherwise the service you're going to get isn't going to be very good.

I don't need good service, just need cpu power for a project for a month.

I was talking in terms of reliability, not support.

You could probably get a modern E3 or E5 running at 3GHz+ within your budget on a decent network which would be much more powerful than an old Xeon running at 2GHz or slightly more.

Check out Amazon EC2, I think it is your only option for 200 systems for one month. On the bright side, you can do it for an hour!

$4/core is kinda too low...barely even covers power costs. It's not just the price that is a bit too low, but having to set up that many servers for only a one month term...really doesn't sound all that appealing.
I could see you getting more interest and recommendations, if you came up in price 25-50%.

Yeah I agree with you sadly deploying some 4 racks of equipment just for a month doesn't seem worth it at all.

Wholesaleinternet probably is your best bet but honestly I don't think it would be worth it much for the provider for just 1 month

But then again, Wholesaleinternet probably does get a lot of sales and wouldn't be as bad for them once you cancel. They're definitely your best bet.

Nobody is going to invest for that many servers for 1 month, it's that simple.
You could only get servers put online by increasing the budget and settling with less.

Although it will be tough to find you may want to watch for any insane Cyber Monday offers.

Otherwise Wholesale and Datashack may be best option (same staff). They provide a nice network for budget price.

Yeah, I was wondering the same. I think it's just a coincidence they sell out when the OP was looking for that type of build in a mass quantity.

But who knows, maybe he did

  27. #27
I think so, that's why 12 cores 24 threads are still out of stock on their site

I am gonna take all their stock and more so i am not gonna disclose this information. But you should send emails to some providers, some willing to do this.
