Firstly, I should point out that I suffer from M.S. as well as a heart condition and diabetes. I also have had a tummy bug for the past week, or maybe its from the stress of what is happening right now.
Here is the story.
We hosted 6 sites with HOSTSVAULT.COM and they WERE good, but then they sold out to someone whom I think resides in Egypt, this is North Africa, because it might explain what started to happen.
Our sites were constantly hacked by North African hackers, so, and we sent off dozens of support tickets for help, none were answered. The only emails we did get were the regular account bills due notices. in the end, we decided to move hosts.
We found a host which appears OK...
But we forgot about our domain names, when one became due, my business partner logged in an paid it. The requests for money kept coming. The company is the sister company of our old hosts.
They ignored all our Emails that it had been paid.
So, we decided to move to BigRock.com .... that is when the problems started.
Of the five domains, we could only transfer two. We paid via PayPal which has been active for years and is verified and authenticated. Within 48 hours, they demanded photo ID to prove we owned the PayPal account. I asked them on what legal basis they made this demand. No answer.
Under 24 hours later, this morning in fact, I got an Email saying the transaction had been cancelled because they had not received photo ID.
What is the point of PayPal to pay for things online when you need to provide photo ID, which is crap anyhow, anyone proficient in photoshop could forge it anyhow.
As a consequence, we have now lost that one domain which was due.... (although it had already been paid for)
To say I am NOT happy is an understatement.
Given time zone differences, demanding photo ID within 24 hours is crazy, especially if they never told us about that in the first place.
Also, the dangers of identity theft are enormous when these .... people.... from India.... can use the information you provide in a photo ID for evil.
The three websites which couldn't be transferred are "stuck" at PublicDomainRegistry.com which, funnily enough, is also located in India and they are also demanding photo ID before they will release the domains...
Can one of you awesome people who runs a registrar service please advise me on what to do, in fact, given my health, if you could actively help getting this resolved it would be great.
You may like to check who is the registrar of your domain, with many registrars you are able to move domain to another account under another provider/reseller free of cost and you can renew your domain there. Check who is the registrar of your domains (active and expired) that are under the current provider.
Normally there is a grace period after expiry, so you can still renew your domains, after moving them to some other provider under the same registrar.
now your is under their control, so better contact the admin of bigrock and tell your problem.
Buy always from reputed companies not from cheap resellers or zero supported sites.
register.com and more reputed comapnies are there, these top companies work on customer satisfaction, but the company you mentioned here look like they even don't have support (satisfaction is next, without support how we expect satisfaction)
So try contacting him here through private message or through his email ID as shown in his signature.
But to be frank without knowing the domain names that are stuck, all help we can provide is a shot in the dark.
If public WHOIS of your domain is showing you as Registrant and Admin contact, with your email ID in its records, and you have proof that you paid for those domains, you can do a lot and PDR will help you without doubt.
