View Poll Results: Should polls voting be open to unregistered visitors?
- 4. You may not vote on this poll
Yes. If there's enough votes, high profile websites might link to it, bringing more visitors to WHT!
Yes. Unregistered users should be able to particpate without having to register.
No. You have to be a member of WHT. That's just how it is, sorry.
No. Polls might attract more visitors, but it could get abused.
Not sure. Can't see how opening polls to the public could hurt, but maybe it could.

Should poll voting be open to unregistered visitors?
I noticed a poll I created yesterday recieved alot of views. Should unregistered users visiting this site, finding this poll via Google be able to participate in voting?

I voted "No. Polls might attract more visitors, but it could get abused."
I voted fairly conservatively. I don't know if people would waste their time voting on topics that they don't understand or have no interest in, but getting skewed results would not benefit anyone.
If you could configure the poll so that a poll creator can choose to allow or dis-allow public voting, then he/she can accept the risks when collecting data in that manner.
