    Help. Liquidweb can't help; can't connect to mandrill

    I am using loquidweb a managed servers. Cannot connect to mandrill via smtp

    Something on my servers blocking it. I never had a problem at KnownHost but now Liquidwebs box won't let us connect.

    We use mandrill for billing notices. Etc. no special tunnels setup.

    Any ideas? Heroic support can't save me. Hoping you guys can.

    The answer of switching hosts seems to be the only one I can think of. However its such a pain in the ass. I like my box at Liquidweb. Just can't get these stupid security features bypassed to make this work.

    Ideas?

    What error are you getting? A simple telnet to port 25 should see, is it your system firewall or are madrill blocking your liquidweb server?

    Are you able to access others? such as telnet aspmx.l.google.com 25

    Its the smtp part. I can telnet to google, but the smtp flag is triggering a block

    Config Security has an option to block outside smtp requests; Ive read that its part of exim and needs to have some rules added; but for the life of me i cant figure out

    all i know is this worked on my dedicated/cpanel @ my past host, now it doesnt.


    and i opened tickets. they checked logs and dont even see connection requests from my ips

    Port 25 and 587 is blocked by some security setting they have. They unlocked firewall for port 2525 and i am allowed to connect to mandril. Any other smtp's will most likely be a problem in the near future.

    So since they dont know whats blocked it - and how to actually fix/allow this through a specific port; does anyone else actually know what to look for?


    Like can i put a ip / domain in the exim config to allow / whitelist this so it doesnt block - or a security setting somewhere?

    Jesus - you think this might have been the problem???


    # This is a comma separated list of the ports to block. You should list all
    # ports that exim is configured to listen on
    SMTP_PORTS =
    25,26,587



    CSF - i assumed theyd help check those part of managed i guess, i should not assume so much

    Hi,

    Did you get this resolved?

    Am having the same issues with mandrill / liquidweb.

    So far unable to find a solution, although support is trying to assist.

    'SMTP Restrictions' was enabled
