    Power less than $10/amp 110v?

    Hi Guys!

Can anyone recommend a colo provider currently offering power for less than $10/amp? The only physical location requirement is that it's a US provider.

    Thanks!

That shouldn't be too hard to find, check out some of the providers in the colocation offers section.

Just doing the math on power costs alone (24 hrs * 30 days * 0.06/kWh * 1.5 uplift = $65/kW) would make it seem unlikely, given that $10/A @ 110V works out to about $91/kW.

Unless, of course, a provider is significantly oversubscribing capacity...

I'd suggest you to search in those U.S. states where the power is cheaper. It is obviously hard to find one like this in New England or Mid Atlantic states. it is more likely to find such prices of power in Midwestern states, in the South or in Washington State.

If you find someone charging under $10/amp, they're probably making up for it by charging more elsewhere.

$10/amp is possible in certain facilities. We get it less than that in some of our locations, a bit higher in the major cities though.

What capacity are you looking to purchase, and what is the rest of the specs of your requirements?
Some providers may have leeway, based on the overall purchase you are making...

Either way, given how OP worded his post, power is the #1 thing.

Cheapest I've ever found has been at the $250 or so for a 16A usable strip. You might be able to find a host that can sell you 'straight utility power' and you wouldn't have generators. I'm assuming if you have some ASIC then a reboot in the off chance there's a crash won't really do anything short of stop your hashing for a bit.

Delivered at 120v I have not seen less than $12/amp for power in the US. You'll probably need to take 3 phase 208v power to get that pricing and even then it's rare.

$12 to $20 per amp is the norm for colo power in the US.

And in the years to come power costs are going to continue to rise as a lot of cheap coal fired power generation is scheduled to be replaced with more expensive less polluting sources in the US to comply with new EPA regulations.

The cheapest power I have been quoted was at Tonaquint data center in St. George UT. In general I have seen data center power in Utah and Colorado to be the cheapest in the US.
