UK, NL, DE are preferred but I wouldn't mind others in EU

You'll find that most companies Sales departments are available at normal office hours. They'll reply to you shortly!

Yeah, you will notice that most of the bigger companies operate on a standard business hour system such as 9AM - 5PM Mon-Fri type thing. Maybe you should post your specs you are looking for here so people can further point you in a more precise direction.

    Yeah, good idea.

    Specs should be:
    4 GB RAM
    4 CPU Cores
    50 GB HDD
    2 IP Addresses
    cPanel/WHM
    1gbit connectivity
Preferred virtualization would be I guess XEN but not mandatory.

    I guess thats it.
Oh yeah, budget is about 60 EUR +-

I will be running two domains, one main where an external access to database will be set up as well as where WHM/root will be installed. Other domain/IP will be used for the main sites (browser php/sql game).

In my experience, I found two addresses handy for ddos attack protection. If my main site was being attacked, I could at least get on to main IP and block it somehow.

SolaDrive, beastserv, PlanetHoster, I know you guys cannot offer me deals on this forum, and that's understandable.
However, I was trying to find some reviews for your hosting companies, but I wasn't able to get any.

If you would point me to some review of your hosting, I would appreciate it, it will help me decide faster.

    Thank you.

Sounds like a plan, but you are relying on the fact that only the game IP would be flooded and the host will actually block only that IP and not the whole VM, from my experience, with all good intentions - that not always works as planned, in case you are attacked and they know your site IP, and someone want's your game down, this idea wont hold water in the long run.

normally I don't like to idea of a game in a virtual machine, just too many things may go wrong and that's annoying when trying to keep the game up properly.

I suggest you separate the workload, as in putting the game on it's own light hardware machine, and your website on a simple hosting account behind some filtering host such as incapsula.

@beastserv, my budget is limited to go for dedicated machine. Been thinking about it and looking around but with dedi + cPanel license and management, I am looking at 120+ EUR, which is double my budget, more or less...

    You're welcome.

Unfortunately, per WHT rules, a host can't PM you.

However, feel free to contact any host you are interested to directly.

A VPS should be fine, at least to start with anyway. You can upgrade to a dedicated server if needed, though some providers charge extra for upgrades, so it's best to check that with each provider you're interested in.

In general my suggestions always come from past experiance
only you have access to the statistics and actual usage of the system , i am only suggesting based on past experience with other game servers, yours might be lighter then the game servers i know and a VPS can be a good match.

I was going to say the same, we cannot PM you unfortunately. Every host has some sort of email so feel free to contact them that way.

I am a huge fan of XEN, it's extremely reliable and you really cannot go wrong going with that over OpenVZ. I would definitely go with the VPS of the specs you are looking for versus a dedicated server as you will get much better performance and reliability out of a high end VPS than you will of a low end dedicated server.

There are numerous hosting providers with servers based in Europe. And your requirements and budget are very workable. Did you try looking at the advertising section of this forum? Also what you could do is go for a monthly plan initially and then upgrade to a yearly plan once you are happy with the service. Yearly plans normally come with cost benefits.
