Possible to have SSL certificates for different subfolders?
I'm wondering if it would be possible to have SSL certificates for different subfolders on a server. The server has 1 static IP and the domains would be two different ones and would point to the different subfolders.
For example, if I were to visit my site with the SSL certificate it would be fine, but if I were to visit the other site without an SSL certificate installed it would present a incorrect SSL certificate error.
It is possible though with 1 IP requires SNI support, which has some limitations (doesn't work on Windows XP and some mobile phones). Does your server have a control panel (if so, which) or do you plan to set this up manually? What web server (apache, nginx, etc)?
If you can setup Apache 2.2.12 or later, with openssl 0.9.8f or later on that OS then what you asked for should be doable. Some configuration/setup information for SNI is available here, see in particular the Server Configuration section. You will also need just the regular SSL setup info available here.
