What's with the sudden rash of changing at the last minute?
Nothing upsets me more than looking forward to a weekend and getting a mail like this:
This email is to inform you that we are moving your VPS and all it's contents .
This move will be seamless, and will be done within the next 3-5 days.
We apologize for the inconvenience
Now, I get that sometimes, hardware fails, and you absolutely HAVE to move your customers at the last minute, but leaving your customers high and dry , expecting them to clean up your mess on such a short notice... That's unprofessional.
Let's face it. These companies knew well in advance this was coming, yet did nothing to notify their customers, up until the very last minute , nothing. And a feeble attempt at an apology is supposed to make everything better???
I realize many of you are Áhildren (read: < 25) and are probably just starting out in this business, but please please, PLEASE , show some courtesy and respect to your paying clients?

Perhaps they're hoping that by giving clients less time, they won't go looking for alternative suppliers, knowing that a move is inevitable.
Assuming there's an IP change involved, this alone would boil my blood:

What I find really bad is that these people know they're moving, well in advance of notifying customers. it's become increasingly more and more acceptable to just skip out on notifying customers in a timely manner here.
Of course, this affects me a good deal more than most, as these VPSes typically host my DNS which means I have to login to god knows how many places, change IP's after the fact, and then hope things aren't terribly off.

I hate it when I see that happen, but like twhiting9275 said when a hardware fails that's one thing I mean things happen sometimes it's out of your own control but so many moves in such a short time and giving basically no notice that will start to affect the business, because clients will start asking questions and wonder if maybe they need to start moving elsewhere.
