please, you call 40 gig 'old days'?
My first computer (not PC), no hard drive at all. WE did all the work, forget this Windows drag and drop, mousy cat thing ... If you wanted it done, you did it yourself, saved it on cassette (if you were lucky)!Tom Whiting, WHMCS Guru extraordinaire

yes, started out with cassettes as well on the ZX Spectrum. Also remember spending lots of time typing in complete games in BASIC from books and magazines. Fairly quickly after that came the Commodore 64 with 1541 floppy drive, Atari ST (though I really wanted an Amiga) and finally PC.

My first PC in 1999 came with a 3.2GB Maxtor ATA33 running Windows 98. It would still boot into 98 the last time I tried it in '04 or '05 but I had newer hardware and was running Windows 2K and that little drive was useless by then so I tossed it.

I remember my first 40MB MFM disk, greatest thing I'd set eyes on, back when it was MFM or RLE, not SATA or SAS...
