Promotion Code for Datashack Dedi Plans

    Hello,

I was going to order one of their plans and at the last step I realized I'm 3 dollars short on my paypal account!

the plan I was going to order was this one:

    Dual Intel Xeon 5420
    2.5Ghz - 2 processors
    8 Cores / 8 Threads
    8GB DDR2 2 x 1TB 20TB Monthly Transfer
    Linux/Windows* OS
    5 usable IPv4 Address
    /64 IPv6 Address Block**
Remote Reboot Access $49.00/month FREE Setup

anyone here knows about a promotion code that can knock at least 3 dollars off of the first month payment?

they said they can't go any lower than their website prices.

I would add 3 dollars to my account, but this will take at least 2 more days for me, and my current service (which is also from one of their resellers!) will run out tonight..
so I guess with their 2 days delivery time and my two days delay for ordering, my website will be down for a week!

    oh well..

I doubt they have a promo code that discount's that price any further given how low it already is!

If you can't add 3 more dollars to your paypal account, you have more pressing issues.

    .... :p

It doesn't matter how much you claim how important your data is. If it's not backed up, it's not important.

its not like I can't add the funds. I live in Iran so it took me a day to charge it, and my previous server was running out so I wanted to put in the order sooner so after the 2 day waiting time I can move my website to the new server.

but they said they can't knock off that 3 dollars, so I had to charge my account and put the order in tonight.

So datashack accepted your order from Iran? Is that legal these days? I know some services bans were lifted but I thought most hosts didn't offer service to Iran due to the legal grey area of the embargo:

Exceptions seem to be by license only:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._sa...ran#Exceptions

The very unclear lifting of the ban on telecom services:

    Yeah, that's weird.

I think you should stick to European businesses in order to not risk seeing your account closed

We got the ok from State and the FBI to sell to Iran back in May. DataShack followed our lead.

So you have a special permit? Could you put me in touch with your agent? Our local agent said it's still a very grey area opening you up to massive legal risks.

Nice, so no risk for the gov to rethink those things and force people getting kicked out?

Then you should definitely stay away from it. We haven't been mentioning anything since we'd rather other US providers continue to turn those customers away.

I'm guessing you're relying on this:
    http://www.treasury.gov/resource-cen...s/iran_gld.pdf

Which allows for personal communications grade services, but not commercial, specifically:
    (b) This general license does not authorize:
    [....]

The exportation or reexportation, directly or indirectly, of commercial-grade Intemet
    connectivity services
or telecommunications transmission facilities (such as dedicated satellite
links or dedicated lines that include quality of service guarantees).
Not trying to bust your chops, but the documents seem quite clear from my reading.
