I'd just like to share you my experience with Porthosts. Firstly, I'll off by saying that you have to wait around 12 hours for a ticket to be replied to - once I had my hosting invoice due the next day and wanted to know if I should carry on using their services. However, before they got chance to reply to my ticket, the hosting plan had already expired. They only have 1 support member. Another thing I'd like to point out is their firewall. If you're planning on using an external MySQL server, you're going to need to contact the owner through a support ticket to unblock your IP and allow you access to the server (which would roughly take around 36 hours to solve the issue).
To conclude, if you've got any problems, then it'll take more than 12 hours to solve. Very terrible support.
