    dynamic and tertiary dns

    What is dynamic and tertiary dns and what are there uses?

    Tertiary DNS just refers to a 3rd DNS server. This might either be in the role of a Resolver (ie 3rd DNS resolver) or Authoritative.

    Dynamic DNS refers to the ability for DNS entries to be updated. This occurs through multiple methods, one example is a client which sends updates for machines on dynamic IP (dyndns) another example is how AD updates client DNS for workstations and servers in the AD domain.
