What a great find... check your site status around the world

Wow i ran accross this today.. .

    http://www.site24x7.com/check-website-availability.html

what a great find im thinking about adding a link to this on my portal for the hosting company..

I know i sound like a kid in a candy store but this is a great idea for a site i wish i had thought of it..

Have these been around long, im sure there are more like this that i have not found yet and im googling now...

And it does seem to work... such a handy tool when you need to know for sure.. Especially as a reseller or a client...

Good find, it's looks similar to host-tracker.com. These really come in handy when a client insists that a site is down even when it really isn't.

Guess it was just temporary, i did sign up from the main page this time instead of the world page. They have smart phone app as well as a desktop app. Totally very cool... i also signed up for host tracker as well... I think the more i let my clients know we are trying to keep a handle on this the less tickets i will get because they know i am on top of it..

Oh yeah and the best thing, both sites have free plan options, you cant beat that..

This looks promising, if only for an up/down check (e.g. if reported not working from a particular location). I see it has various other features as well including page load speed testing (looks similar to firebug), DNS server monitoring etc. Probably not something to use as primary monitor (maybe nagios or something like that), but good to have available particularly if making a quick check remotely by phone or to give a "2nd opinion".

Wow, it's quite handy. And it's nice to see it's able to check the status globally.
