    Bitcoins - wat.

so I was checking on Bitcoin charts, and from last week I checked, if I recall they were stable around 250 and now it's over half a grand. what.

Anyone else wish they'd bought some back then?

Bitcoin is going through an unprecedented period of stability and maturity, it's been nearly a whole week since a significant exchange or wallet service has been hacked/inside-job/destroyed, that's a lifetime in the bitcoin industry. What is driving this growth in the face of utter shambles in terms of stability of exchanges/wallets is beyond me, yes I get the long term NSA/GCHQ/FedReserve concerns, but the recent growth against a backdrop that would indicate 'sell' is crazy. I would have said to short it last week at $420 so it shows I really havent got an handle on this.

    Me confused!

The FBI is pumping up the market ?somehow? before dumping all the bitcoins that they acquired via the silk road arrest.

Holy cow, my investments really paid off!
Example: extra wallet, had $22 in BitCoins. This week I had about $94 in BitCoins.

My only guess is because a huge amount of bitcoins have been taken out of circulation. The FBI seizure of bitcoin from silkroad was a huge chunk of the entire currency in existence. Supply has dropped significantly.

Is all that confiscated bitcoin sitting in a virtual evidence locker somewhere? Or will it eventually be cashed out?
