    Thumbs up - first impressions

I ordered a VPS from to test their 10gbps advertised speed. It's insane for a VPS to get up to 10gbps network speed, but there is a catch: disk is limited to 100MBytes/s. So if you don't cache it, you can't push more than 100MBytes/s (about 1gbps).

     dd if=/dev/zero of=./test1 bs=4M count=512
    512+0 records in
    512+0 records out
    2147483648 bytes (2.1 GB) copied, 23.643 s, 90.8 MB/s
I liked the fact that the machine was created automatically... in about 5 minutes I had the IP in my email.

I contacted support couple of times, had a nice chat with Daniel from support (for some reasons only he was picking up my calls).

So, in order to test the 10gbps network, i mounted a tmpfs and did the wget from 40x 1gbps nodes. Here are the results:

     venet0 / traffic statistics
                               rx | tx
      bytes 755.86 MiB | 58.07 GiB
              max 24.92 Mbit/s | 1.89 Gbit/s
          average 17.39 Mbit/s | 1.37 Gbit/s
              min 0 kbit/s | 0 kbit/s
    It's official: WE'RE CRAZY!!!

    Thanks for the review.

It's true non-ssd disk is always going to be a bottle neck when each server is connected at 10gig.

We can push well over the 100 MBytes/s on our servers overall but you wont be able to read or write any faster then the hard disk your assigned can handle

Here is a tweet from back in Sept of us testing almost 700MBytes/s while sending to /dev/null ------> [NL] 10Gig VPS Servers -> [NL] 10Gig Dedicated Servers
    ★★★ [DDOS] --- [VPN] --- [IPMI] ★★★
