Windows 8.1 brings back the start bar

Very nice. No more using a 3rd party program for a start bar to be added in.

Update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 (how-to)

Start as in the same thing the Windows key does. It simply returns you to the start screen. A very misunderstood feature on the list of 8.1 features IMO. I for one don't miss the start bar. Typing what you want is so much faster.

This paragraph alone is enough to make me not even want to look, much less try.
From Facebook to the full-featured Mail app and modern Outlook to a "peek" bar in the modern version of Internet Explorer 11 to the new Windows Scan app to the new Bing logo, you now get nearly all of the promised Windows 8.1 extras.
Is that really what people want? Forced BING, IE of any kind, a built in "scan app", more Facebook silliness and so on?
    A clue indeed.

I hate Windows 8 until they bring a Proper Start menu I won't move..
However if they stop the Windows 7 updates, I might as-well move from Windows back to Ubuntu instead of having them side by side.

You can disable most during the upgrade

The startbar just opens the apps thing. It's not like prior to windows 8.

Yup, I'm using classic start for all my customers as well. They don't like being on Windows 8+ without a taskbar.
