Want to move away from Hostgator Dedicated any alternatives?

Hi, we are paying $374 for Hostgator most expensive dedicated server. It's an intel quad core, 3.3ghz, 1gbps uplink, 16gb RAM, 1TB Raid 1, 25 tb bandwidth.

To cut costs, we would like to move to a hosting company that has same level of support as well as lower costs for about the same specs.

I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend some good alternatives to Hostgator (including AWS).

    Thanks

    Kip

OVH and server4you and good support? All I have read on here is the complete opposite!

There are quite a few different options. But as net asked, what is your new budget?

You should at the very least take a look at the server offers section on this forum. There are plenty of deals there from reputable providers.

Does the new provider need to offer services in the same region as where you are currently at with Hostgator or isn't that a requirement?

Great to hear that ovh and server4you are working out for your needs. And thank you for the kind words about AYK!

I just thought that ovh and server4you were always 100% unmanaged and the only things I have seen about the level of support you receive is most likely not something that you can compare with Hostgator who seems to be more hands on. If the OP is looking for something similar to Hostgator, I don't think ovh or server4you will work for them, unless they perhaps buy a support package to go along with their server.

I am confused, I thought OVH didn't provide support at all? Hopefully you can manage a server because its quite a jump from a HG managed server to a budget OVH server.

If you head over to dedicated hosting offers, we are sure you can find plenty of providers that can offer you fully managed servers under that price tag. And unmanaged servers will be even cheaper.

Would you mind telling us the reason for leaving HG?

Is this what you need though? I'm sure you will find a server much cheaper at places mentioned in this thread, however you might not need the exact same spec and could even get the price lower.

Hi, I want to move away from Hostgator primarily due to pricing I'm paying $374 per month for their highest dedicated server.

I need the same or better specs at lower price but with same uptime etc. as Hostgator.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Have you contacted Hostgator about the price? May be they will lower the price for you and bring it at competitive rate. Dedicated server prices come down with time as new and faster hardware is released.

If your planning to go for a low cost alternative then you might have to go down in the required specs a bit.. =) By the way what sort of a amount your are trying to save ?
