Looking for dedicated server w/ GPU ?

    Hello there!

Just wondering, what would you think of a server based on a Core I7 4770, 32GB RAM and a Nvidia Quadro 2000D GPU, with 1xSSD for the system and 1x3TB for data?

What are you planning on using it for? The i7s aren't server-grade processors, but the GPU makes it sound like you have something very non-server-oriented in mind. Is there some reason you wouldn't want to go for one of the new E3-v3s that have graphics built-in (like a E3-1285)?

Ditto, the server is a nice machine. Without knowing what you plan on using it for, it is hard to say with certainty if it is the best option.

Softlayer offers servers with graphics cards, but get ready to pay. You could also go the colocation route.

You should be able to get a GPU for a one time fee from a reasonable provider.

I looked into the same thing about 6 months ago for a side project... your best bet is to simply grab a list of your favorite hosting providers and send their support a message. I found that about 1/3 of the providers I contacted could handle custom setups like that. (Probably should've been higher, but I didn't do any background checking to see what providers were just reselling...)

At the time, both ServerPoint and SoftLayer were willing to do a custom GPU setup like that. I didn't end up using either, though, so that's not an endorsement.

    Good luck!
