Help me to move a website but not Mail.

    Hai folks,

i am in need of moving a website, but the owner is telling me that they using a mail server out side of current hosting and mail service is vital for them. having over 50 mail address.

so i just want to move thire website only. not email. but i am having some problem identifying the service providers. the site owner does not no anything. the one who did the website also not much supporting us with any information.

here are some dns info the domain.

    nameservers :

    dns1.registeredsite.com. ['64.226.28.34'] [TTL=172800]
    dns3.registeredsite.com. ['209.237.137.26'] [TTL=172800]
    dns2.registeredsite.com. ['209.237.137.26'] [TTL=172800]

    - is this belong to web.com ?

    MX records

MX records that were reported by your nameservers are:

    5 mail.com 213.165.66.221 (no glue)
    4 inbound.registeredsite.com 205.178.149.7

    - SO The mail seems hosted on two servers ?

    pls need some clarification.

    Thank you.

Set-up the DNS records on your own name servers. Set the MX records to whatever they currently are and then change the name servers to yours.

If you are not changing the name servers than just edit the DNS records at the existing host to change the A records to the location of the new hosting.

Your mail server is hosted on 209.237.138.38 IP

    [[email protected] ~]# dig mx registeredsite.com +short
    5 mailhub.registeredsite.com.
    [[email protected] ~]# dig mailhub.registeredsite.com +short
    209.237.138.38

Your website is hosted on 209.237.150.20 IP

    [[email protected] ~]# dig registeredsite.com +short
    209.237.150.20

So if you are keeping the mail server then you just need to point all A records to new IP
