    Reliable Managed Dedicated Server

    Hi all.

i am getting confused with top hosting review sites showing the awards given to dedicated server companies, but then when i do further search, there are warnings and terrible reviews for those award winning hosting companies.

what i am looking for is a reliable, managed dedicated server to host on

there is overall about 300 sites i currently host. Any suggestions on managed reliable dedicated servers that don't cost the earth.

This is what i would be looking for
    Server
    • Core i7 Quad Core I7-860 2.8 GHz
    RAM
    • 4 GB DDR3-1333 SDRAM
    First Hard Drive
    • 1 TB SATA HDD (7200 RPM)
    Second Hard Drive
    • 1 TB SATA HDD (7200 RPM)
    Disk Controller
    • SATA 2 Port RAID Card
    Bandwidth
    • 20 TB Bandwidth
    Uplink Port Speed
    • 100 Mbps Uplink Port Speed
    IP Addresses
    • 4 IPs
    Control Panel
    • cPanel

Those "top hosting review sites" are posting fake reviews so they can earn affiliate credit. This is nothing new.

What are your server specification requirements are budget? Location?

    This.

When looking for a new server, you need to look at how stable the company is, network they are using, support, etc... last would be your price.

What location is preferred? Do you have a control panel required/preferred? This make life easier for your end users (if any).
Do you have any specific resource requirements at this time? Bandwidth, IPs, storage etc?

Lastly, what is your budget parameter for this project? Other forum members may be able to suggest host for you with this information.

I noticed you edited your post; this server should be fine, but if you're looking for some extra horsepower I'd suggest a E3-v3 series proc You may even consider RAID-10 due to the amount of sites you will be having and disk I/O may become a bottle neck, so just think about that.

Los Angeles would be great for Australia. And your budget should allow you to pick a reputable provider. Consider RAID-10 with whom ever you choose, it'll provide you with the best performance and redundancy for your setup

I'd check the offer section out - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search...rchid=49003677 -- I searched "Keyword(s): los, angeles, datacenter"

Then I'd encourage you to get in touch with these providers and see how their solution can help your business. This will also give you a rough idea on their sales response time, knowledge and overall friendliness.

Let us know who you choose and why.
