    Post Of Levels and Hawks

I contacted Level Hosting sales more than 30 hours ago and still didn't receive any reply. Does anyone know what's going on?

I also contacted Host Hawk sales and though I instantly got a short reply that they'll be getting back to me, haven't heard from them yet since like 5-6 hours.

    Are these good web hosts?

I would recommend you to wait for some more time for their reply. I know the reply time is too late. Keep updated on this thread.

Were your questions technical where the sales team may need to get a support / level 2/3 tech to answer? If so, you'll get a delay. Though, I wouldn't expect 30 hours.

Sales departments generally are slow, but 30 hours!?!?! - that's ridiculous. I wouldn't touch Level Hosting with a barge pole based on that and some of the recent WHT reviews that have appeared.

Unless you had a very specific configuration request which warranted admins getting involved, 30 hours is way too long. I'd even say 6 hours is a bit long for general sales questions. Did you try their Live Chat?

HawkHost is more established, I am sure someone from their sales team will get back to you soon, just understand that some providers' sales departments are not 24/7 so it's possible you may have to wait until tomorrow for a response from them.

I hope for you that doesn't mean you will have to wait longer than 30 hours when you got an emergency.

I agree 30 hours is way too long for a response. Even if the ticket warranted someone of a more senior post to respond, a better practice would be for the initial responder to inform the prospective client that they are flagging it for someone else's attention.

Sales isn't a priority at most hosts. And it shouldn't be.
    Current customers are more important.
So 1-2 days is average (~48 hours).

If you're that impatient, there's always Godaddy for you.

@raspal - I checked our pre-sale inquiries and noticed they were all answered. Feel free to pm me your email address so I can perform a quick search in our spam folder. In addition, as outlined on our Contact Us page our Sales Department is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 12PM - 8PM EST.

@Ethernet Servers - I see you're still working on your random intelligence. If you read the actual reviews you would realize they’re from disgruntled customers whose service was switched off justly. We have no need to rebuttal on those threads since the originator has already come to their own decision.

@kpmedia – You appear to be the only sensible and sound individual in this thread.

    Have a great evening.

Strange thing that I didn't receive any notification emails about any of the above replies from WHT notifcation system, after the first one from Alex. On a previous thread, I did get notified. Anyway, thanks to everyone for replying.

Nothing technical, just inquired about some of their services and whether they can add a small service to the small plan. Haven't yet received a response yet been like 48 hours now. Though I see now that LevelHosting posted a response here about 8 hours ago.

Yes, I understand this and know that only tech support is 24/7. But, having faced with really bad sales reps on other webhosts even since day one, I felt may be these guys are like those other bad webhosts too. That's why I posted here, for advice.

Thanks for letting me know this. I don't wish to Go with another Daddy. I already have one.

I also received a response from HawkHost about 13 hours after I wrote to their sales. I understand that sales isn't a priority. Their livehelp sales, billing, support - all are always offline for me due to me being in India.

This shouldn't have happened. Anyway, pming you the email address I used for emailing your sales before. Thank you.

Still waiting for a reply from LevelHosting as well as HawkHost. Probably none would reply as it's weekend. Will I have to wait 2 more days for a pre-sales reply?

What were the nature of your questions? I do believe that asking questions before signing up for a web host is important. It also depends on the company, if you are dealing with larger companies that get a ton of inquiries during weekends (when sales probably are not being manned), then yes you can expect to have some delays.

Worst comes to worst, you can always just take a dive, I think Hawk Host is fairly well known, Level I have seen around here. Cant comment on the quality for neither, but maybe you can ask others for feedback?

Did you get an automatic reply from HawkHost that your ticket was received [or anything at all from them thus far]?

If you didn't get an automatic response there's a good chance they didn't get your ticket.

My questions to both of them (LevelHosting and HawkHost)) were differrent but both could be replied by their sales. I think I will just get one of them anyway. I still have a 30 days money back. I also wanted to test their support before purchasing but I can try them for a month anyway.

I did get a reply a few hours ago from HawkHost's CEO because the extra sales team didn't have an answer to my question.

I also just signed up for a free trial account at Site5. I chatted with their sales and also got good tech support experience with them. Only thing I didn't like is they don't give cpanel. They have a custom control panel which looks somewhat similar to cpanel. But I've read Site5 is quite reliable. They're a little on the higher side of pricing since they give unlimited space and bandwidth.

My question to HH was about a week or so of free trial, about reliability and IPs for testing their speed.

I did get the auto response immediately. They also created a user/password for me on support.hawkhost.com and emailed me the details. The account failed to work though, for some reason.

It's not really custom. It's still cPanel as far as I can tell. I just logged in and looked for a few specific things that (for example) are missing in EIG vDeck. They're there.

It has a skin, and is integrated into Backstage, which is a really nice backend customer panel. That's custom, from what I know. As opposed to WHMCS, for example.

Yep, you get what you pay for. Not that the other two you mention are in any way bad. I suggest Hawkhost, too, just not as much as Site5. The techs are faster/better. But that comes at cost.

The space/bandwidth doesn't matter that much unless your site is large -- in which case you should look at semi-dedicated or VPS anyway!

    All are good choices.

Thanks kpmedia. I think it was your review page only from where I read about Site5. I had read about Site5 previously but for some reason I didn't register for the trail account, a few months ago.

Site5 now have a data center in India too. Not that I'll be using that one, but good many data centers, even more than HawkHost.

    Thanks again everyone for advice.
