    * Transferring Shared Hosting to VPS

    Hello,
I believe this is the proper channel to this question.

I have a good news i got promoted in my office and got a new job to finish.

my 1st assignment is to move 3 of our company website from Shared to VPS surly i can do that with my experience and the things i learned here so far.

But what will happen to all the company email database? (including all the staff's emails) how can i transfer everything to VPS.

If anyone can help me that would be great. i really don't want to mess things up and i worked hard for this

    Transferring Shared Hosting to VPS

Do they currently use Cpanel on the shared hosting account and if you get a managed vps with Cpanel they may be able to migrate everything straight over without loss of any data.

Yes we have Cpanel on my shared server, and i'm going to buy VPS with cpanel. but domain will still remain with them only hosting will change to VPS.

So in cpanl i can migrate everything if that's the case will you be kind enough to share some guide or tut.

    Thank you

If you have a control panel on the shared hosting account make sure that you get/have the same control panel on the VPS and you will be able to migrate everything pretty easy especially if you have cPanel and/or DirectAdmin

    Hang on.
Are you upgrading to VPS by the same hosting provider?
If so - they should migrate you themselves and you should not worry about a thing.

Certainly it would be a seamless transfer process provided the control panel is same at both ends. Your new hosting provider should help you with the data migration process.

    1) Perform cPanel to cPanel transfer.
    2) Get nameserver for your new VPS.
    3) Update nameserver of your domains to new to resolve to your VPS.
